Teacher or Learner

I’ve had the incredible fortune of meeting Dennis Sparks and Will Richardson this past week. They have different fields of expertise but I heard similar messages from both. It is impossible to be an effective educator (or even a mediocre one) without also being an active and willing student. Students enter the education system with knowledge that literally did not exist 15 years ago. As educators, we must appreciate and ancourage our students’ expertise as much as we want them to appreciate ours.
